Why Atoms? Why A Temple?

In the previous lessons, we have seen that the universe is composed entirely of atomic energy vibrating at different rates of speed and the orderly formation and function of all things physical, is the result of a guiding intelligence inherent within the atoms themselves, and that this intelligence is what is conscious within man. We must inevitably ask ourselves why were the atoms drawn from the invisible ethers to form a physical plane? Why was a creature created that walked erect with this Infinite Spirit living inside it, looking out from behind organs of physical sight? In our pursuit of greater understanding, we must come to the realization that why the phenomenon known as the physical plane was created, no one can say, but we can see that this Infinite Intelligence is expressing itself to the highest degree mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, materially, etc. This is being accomplished through the creation of a very complex, cosmic being; hence, the development of man. ("Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and it is the Spirit of God that dwelleth in you?") (I. Cor. 3:16)

Man is the temple or dwelling place where the Infinite Spirit lives, and it is here that the individual "I AM" center experiences the phenomena known as Physical Consciousness, pleasure, pain, joy, love, feelings, emotions, sensory stimulation, and pure experience, etcetera. It is on this physical plane that the Divine Mind carries on the continuous processes of creation, growth, development, unfoldment, illumination, realization, evolution and eventual perfection of a self realized cosmic being. The birth of a god in human form. We are all evolving unerringly to a greater state of perfection. Humanity has often been described as the school of earth. It is as though the Divine Mind created the physical plane and all things in it, and then needed a place for a mind to live where it could experience all things physical and grow to its fullest potential. So it created not only the most complex of organisms, but also the most beautiful of temples for that purpose. You ask to what purpose is the universe? We must answer, "...to live in, to experience, and to enjoy." The universe was designed for you.

We have seen in the first lesson that modern scientists have worked out the whole of physical or chemical life to a scale of atoms vibrating at different speeds. This great scale of vibrations we know as the physical plane. By a "plane" is meant a complete series or world of substance under one law. Light, heat, sound, taste, smell, and color and all other physical sensations are all the direct results of vibrations. "Vibrations in the ether which vibrate between the speeds of 16 and 40,000 oscillations per second are detected by the auditory nerve and transmitted to the brain which interprets these vibrations as sound. From 40,000 vibrations per second we can sense nothing until the waves or vibrations reach the incredible speed of 35,000,000,000,000 vibrations per second. At this point, the vibrations are picked up by the sensor nerves of the skin and are transmitted to the brain where they are interpreted as the first indications of warmth and heat. As the vibrations reach the speed of 400,000,000,000,000 per second, we respond to them through the medium of the optic nerve which transmits them to the brain and we appreciate them in the form of light. When the vibrations reach 450,000,000,000,000 oscillations per second, the lowest visible light rays manifest as RED. Then come the reddish orange, pure orange, orange yellow, golden yellow, and then pure yellow, respectively. Then greenish yellow, green, greenish blue, ocean blue, cyanic blue, indigo, and finally the violet, the highest degree of vibrations that can be registered by the optic nerve (seen by the eye). These vibrations reach the speed of 750,000,000,000,000 vibrations per second. Then come the ultra-violet rays, invisible to human sight, but registered by chemical media. In this ultra-violet area lie the x-rays, and other recently discovered high-degree rays. Also the acitinic rays which, although invisible to the eye, register on the photographic plate, sunburns ones face, blisters ones nose, and even causes violent explosions in certain chemical substances exposed to them, as well as acting on the green leaves of plants causing the chemical change of transforming carbonic acid and water into sugar and starches. These forms of "dark light", that is, light too fine to be perceived by the human eye, are but faint indications of the existence of still higher and finer vibrations--the finer forces of nature." Considering the vibratory wave structure of the universe, we can compare ourselves to a king that lives inside a stone castle, with no windows, doors, or lights. We depend entirely on our faithful messengers to transmit messages and knowledge of the outside circumstances and events to us, which we interpret and record. Our senses serve to free us from our dark silent tomb. They are our only contact with the outside world or physical plane. PHYSICAL MAN IS A CREATURE OF VIBRATORY IMPRESSIONS ONLY. Consider a man who has fainted or is unconscious from drugs, anesthetics, or injury. He would be lying on the floor motionless, his open eyes could see nothing, his ears could hear nothing, and his senses of tasting, smelling and feeling would be entirely absent. Physical man in a state of physical unconsciousness knows absolutely nothing of the physical world. His entire aspect of physical existence is BLANK. You could amputate his arms and legs with a dull knife and he would know nothing until his physical consciousness returned.

Being blocked off from receiving or sending any vibratory impressions there is no physical man, but the real, inner, spiritual man is still there and unaffected. His heart still beats, he breathes, and all the intricate processes of respiration, digestion, and assimilation still take place. Physical man in a state of physical unconsciousness is dead to the material world. In fact, if he were actually dead he could not know less of his physical environment. The mysterious element of physical consciousness rises as a direct product of brain function. Your entire consciousness, everything you are aware of, is a direct result of your brain. The purpose of the senses and nerves are to transmit vibratory impressions to the brain. The purpose of the body is to house the delicate apparatus of consciousness.

We find that the brain serves as a switchboard receiving vibrations from the physical environment and transmitting them into what we call physical consciousness. It is almost like we are living inside a television and radio; without impulses--no picture, without waves--no sound, without vibrations--nothing. With physical matter being the result of condensed electrical units and consciousness being the product of the brain, this leaves the materialists idea of physical reality somewhat shaken, especially when we consider that the brain is 85% water.

Of all practical purposes, the only material reality there is IS THE ONE YOU ARE CREATING!!! Life, it turns out, is the activity for the Evolutionary Energy in the process of evolving. THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO LIVE!!! THE GOAL OF ALL LIVING THINGS IS TO GLORIFY WHAT IS ALIVE.
