No amount of reading in the greatest books will give you the understanding needed to master life unless your mind is ready to receive the knowledge.

It does no good to expose someone to the truth who is not ready to receive it. Words of truth to the fool are as 24 karat gold bullion to a monkey. To a person, they would be a treasure of great value and the benefits thereof would help to raise one to a richer and fuller life, but to the monkey in his primitive existence they are entirely worthless, so it is with truth. To the un-evolved mind, that which has the greatest value in reality is given the least recognition because he has no understanding of it.

A homely analogy for sure, but the point is: if you do not feel a strong desire to know truth and master life, to realize your full potential as a human being, if you do not feel the inner urge--
